From November 2013 to September 2014
After the great success in Rome, Naples and Milan, the Exhibition of Plastinated Corpses "Corpi Svelati" will take place in our seaside town for 10 months, from November the 2nd, 2013 to September 2014 at the Tropicarium Park.
The process of plastination, invented and patented by the German scientist Gunther von Hagens, allows you to perfectly preserve tissues and organs to replace body fluids with silicone polymers.
The exhibition celebrates the wonder of the human body with particular reference to the heart, considered the "engine" of life, it's the first organ to be formed after conception. Here are highlighted muscles, tendons, bones, the human body in all its features and the charm of death.
Through the comparison between healthy bodies and organs affected by diseases, showing peculiarities and details of anatomy, the exposure disclose and educates on issues of health, wellness, proper nutrition, and allows people to understand exactly what happens when the body is sick and how a wrong way of life can undermine the health. This makes it accessible and understandable to the general public a range of information that otherwise would be relegated only to the scientific field.
