Treviso and Prosecco

Treviso, a city that embodies history, culture and identity of an entire region.

The territory of Prosecco, worldwide wine, extends into the hills of the province of Treviso, between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. A set of ranges of hills which follow each other up from the plains to the foothills.

If Conegliano is considered the cultural heart of the Prosecco wine area and home to the School of Enology and research institutions, Valdobbiadene, which each year hosts the National Spumante, forms the heart of the production.

The history of Prosecco is very long and there are various hypotheses about its origin. The most credible identifies the Prosecco wine with a known during the Roman Empire, the Pucino, from the hills that surround karst north of the Gulf of Trieste, where there was a town of the same name and a very similar variety called Glera.

Cataloging carried out in the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene at the beginning of the twentieth century show the existence of different biotypes of prosecco.

Here the Province of Treviso continues to amaze its visitors, with its art, tradition and great respect for the land.

With sporting events such as the Tour of Italy, cultural events and exhibitions in the historic center, and a food and wine to envy...

We can say that this is a city to live to 360 °.

Now let's have a... toast!
